Beyonce Has A Baby Girl

So I know many of you are saying "who cares", and for those who don't know me, I will confess to be a "star gazer" and a faithful reader of People magazine; it is a character flaw. With that said, it's a good flaw for me to have as it is all about PR, and I am sometimes amazed myself that this stuff is considered "news". Read below about Beyonce. I can assure you I did not have this type of experience when I had my two children. What are your thoughts? Was the hospital fair in the treatment of their "publics"? Any other issues you can see from a PR perspective?

  1. This article was very interesting to me. I understand hat celebrities probably have different concerns than an average person's concerns, but I do not feel that these concerns should bear any impact on the people around them. The sole fact that they could have been preventing a new father from being with his wife and newborn is not okay. The story is a little confusing, though, because it seems like other couples were not effected by Beyonce and Jay-Z at all. I also can understand them wanting extra security due to the press and paparazzi, but milions of dollars in security might be a bit excessive. I guess this can act as bad publicity for the couple if the did cause problems and difficulty for other couples. Some peopke may understand where Beyonce and Jay-Z were coming from, but I feel like many people will side with the poor couple who was separated for hours. Also, this is bad publicity for the hospitalbecause it makes it seem like the hospital favors people who are famous rather than provide an equal service and experience for all patients.

  2. I think Beyonce and Jay-Z went over the top with this. I understand that they need a certain amount of security due to the status of celebrity that both Jay-Z and Beyonce carry, but still they were in a public hospital that needs to equally serve the needs of all patients and their families regardless of social status. The two make enough money that they could have accommodated alternative needs such as an at home birth or a clinic that can better suit their private needs. This article makes Beyonce and Jay-Z seem out of touch with their fans and the rest of society. The hospital is not just run for them and their extravagant entourage. In the end though the hospital should have not allowed this to happen and told Beyonce and Jay-Z this is as much as we can accommodate and anything after that is unacceptable. This would make the two negotiate and decided whether this particular hospital would be the place for their birth.

  3. After reading this article one could presume that any irate parents with greivances against either the Jay-Z and Beyonce party or Lenox Hill Hospital associates should provide adequate proof of mis-treatment during these times. Although this may prove difficult due to the fact that the cameras had been supposedly taped over, any proof on the matter could lead to a viable reason for complaints. It is also important to note that other parties in the hospitol claimed they were not affected by the presence of the Jay-Z and Beyonce party

  4. When I first heard about this in the news I thought to myself, they must be really worried that someone might kidnap their baby and I was very understanding. However I do not think it is ok that other parents are not able to see their children who are in the same hospital.

If they wanted that much security they should have thought about this earlier and chosen a different hospital. I believe once you are famous, a star and have that much money you believe that you can do whatever you want and that is what we can witness in this case. There is no barrier no limits and people abuse it, but if we were in the same shoes maybe we would act in the same way.

So I cannot judge their behavior but however understand the frustration of parents who were not allowed to see their newborns.

  5. Celebrities more than not receive special treatment because of the money and fame they bring to any event. If you can call it an event, the birth of Jay-Z and Beyonce's baby, Ivy, should have been released to the other parents concieving a child during that period of time. There is nothing more nerve-racking for a mother (I can only imagine) than bringing a new life into this world. Everything should be catered to the comfort of the mother and father.

That being said, New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital should have made aware of the importance of the security for the Carter family and the reasons for the change in normal procedures. A good point was brought up that the security camera’s were ineffective in watching over the children because they were taped up a long with the windows looking over the neonatal unit for three hours. All of this was for the safety of the Carter’s new baby, Blue Ivy, but what were the parents of their new-born suppose to feel about the unusual situation.

Moving forward, any company, restaurant, hospital or business should cater to the community first before pulling strings for celebrities. It is not always the importance of a figure with a tremendous public image, but rather the effect of actions that can hurt the public because of the status of a person, or family.
